I'm Zoe Madewell, my mission is to revolutionize early music education by empowering parents and their children to learn to read music and play piano from a young age.
Decades of research indicate that introducing music before the age of 7 is optimal. However, quality resources for parents aiming to initiate their child's piano journey at home are limited. Many students who depend on "self-teaching" videos from platforms like YouTube, (you know, the ones featuring light-up keys streaming up the screen?), come to our classes claiming they can play piano, using only 1 or 2 fingers, lacking proper technique, and with little understanding of musical concepts such as whole notes.
I have to explain to the parent that our first lesson will be breaking their bad habits and explaining to them that their hands have 5 fingers, and when we play piano, we use all five in both hands!
Once a child has the correct way to play unlocked, they learn FAST, but they need to start YOUNG.
